Setting up IPTV takes about ten minutes on most devices. This guide walks you through Samsung and LG Smart TVs, Android TV and Google TV, the Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple devices, MAG boxes and computers, then shows you how to fix the most common setup problems.
Before you start
- Your access details. We send them on WhatsApp as soon as your free test or plan is active. Keep the message open, because you will copy from it in a moment.
- A player app. IPTV works through a player app that you install yourself from your device's app store. We don't make the app, so you can choose the one you like best.
- A stable connection. Plan for 5 to 10 Mbps per HD stream and 25 Mbps or more for 4K. Our internet speed guide explains how to check yours.
Which login type should I use?
Player apps accept your access details in one of three ways. Use whichever one your app offers:
- Xtream Codes login (server address, username and password). This is the easiest option when your app supports it: channels, categories and the TV guide load automatically and stay up to date.
- M3U playlist link. A single web address that contains your channel list. Almost every player accepts it, including VLC.
- Portal address. Used by MAG boxes and apps that work like them. The portal is linked to your device's MAC address.
Not sure which one to use? Send us your device and app name on WhatsApp and we will tell you which details to enter.
Samsung and LG Smart TVs
- Open the app store on your TV: Apps on Samsung, LG Content Store on LG.
- Search for "IPTV player", compare the ratings and install one that supports M3U or Xtream Codes.
- Open the app. Some apps let you type your details with the remote. Others show a device ID or MAC address on screen and ask you to add your playlist on their website from a phone or computer.
- Restart the app so your channel list loads.
Typing long addresses with a TV remote is slow. If your app has a website for adding playlists, use it on your phone or computer and copy the link straight from our message.
Android TV, Google TV and Android phones
- Open the Google Play Store and search for "IPTV player".
- Install a well-reviewed app that supports Xtream Codes or M3U.
- Open it and choose Add playlist, Add user or Login with Xtream Codes (the wording varies by app).
- Enter your details exactly as written, including capital letters, and save.
- Wait a minute or two while the channels and TV guide load for the first time.
Amazon Fire TV Stick
- On the home screen, open Find and then Search, and look for a player in the Amazon Appstore.
- If the player you want is not in the Appstore, follow the installation steps on the developer's official website. This usually means installing the free Downloader app and allowing it to install apps under Settings > My Fire TV > Developer options. On newer models, unlock Developer options first by opening About and selecting your device name seven times. Only install apps from the developer's own website.
- Open the player, choose the login type and enter your details.
If your Fire TV Stick came with a short HDMI extender cable, use it. It moves the stick away from the back of the TV and often improves the Wi-Fi signal.
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV
Search the App Store for "IPTV player" and choose an app that supports M3U playlists or Xtream Codes. Add your details in the app's settings, and the channel list loads within a minute or two.
MAG boxes
Go to Settings > System settings > Servers > Portals, enter the portal address from our message, save and restart the box. A portal is linked to one box, so include the MAC address printed on the label under your MAG when you message us.
Windows and macOS
Install an IPTV player for your computer, or use the free VLC media player: choose Media > Open Network Stream (on a Mac, File > Open Network), paste your M3U link and press Play. Open the playlist view to browse the channels.
Fixing common setup problems
- "Login failed" or "invalid account". Check for typing mistakes, capital letters and spaces at the end. Copy the server address exactly, including http:// and the port number if there is one.
- Empty channel list. Wait a few minutes, then close and reopen the app. Check that your free test or plan has not ended.
- No TV guide. Use the Xtream Codes login if your app supports it, or refresh the TV guide (EPG) in the app's settings. The first load can take a few minutes.
- Works on the phone but not on the TV. Update the app and your TV's software, or try another player. Older TV apps sometimes struggle with large channel lists.
- The picture freezes or buffers. This is almost always a home network issue. Our internet speed guide shows how to fix it.
